Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka speak to enthusiastic crowd in Chicago

Yesterday, Jill Stein and Ajamu Baraka, the Green Party’s presidential ticket, spoke to well over 300 supporters in the main hall of the People’s Church in Chicago. This ATPR editor attended the rally, and filmed the entirety of Stein’s and Baraka’s powerful and extremely well received speeches. The crowd was very high-energy and delivered many standing ovations. Stein excelled in her speech and her remarks where riveting – she is no doubt a very talented public orator and sincerely passionate about her beliefs, as radically different as they may be from mine on the vast majority of fronts. Her speech illustrated that that the Green Party is waging a struggle against everything it believes is wrong in the United States and shows they meet the definition of a left-wing “revolutionary party”.

Among the loudest chants from the crowd were “No More War” and “Jill not Hill!”.

The above video, recording by this editor, includes many panorama shots of the crowd and is 1 hour and 2 minutes in length. The video starts out with the remainder of Scott Summers’ speech. Summers is the Illinois Green Party’s candidate for U.S. Senate, and he is one of four ballot qualified candidates for that office along with Libertarian Kent McMillen and the duopoly candidates.

ATPR editor Max Rice likewise attended the rally, and was even able to sit on the stage behind Stein. A caption for his photo read, “In an auditorium full of communists, the conservative got the best seat……. @Jill Stein #NOTwithHer #BehindHer.”

A member of Socialist Alternative was also roaming around and selling copies of his party’s newspaper at the conclusion of the speech.
