From Libertarian U.S. Senate candidate Augustus Invictus’ Facebook page, August 28th, 2016:
My name is Augustus Invictus. I am a Libertarian Candidate for U.S. Senate from the great State of Florida. The Libertarian Party of Florida will host its first U.S. Senate primary race in history this Tuesday, August 30th. I am asking for your vote.
Like you, many Americans are thoroughly disappointed with the two-party system that is ruining this country. I entered the race last year standing by these Guiding Principles:
« We must return to the system of government envisioned by our forefathers in the Constitution and the original Bill of Rights.
« We must fix the problems of our own country before helping other nations with a non-interventionist policy.
« We must fix the financial crisis.
« We must end the Federal Reserve, a parasitic banking cartel feeding off the American people while corrupting our economy.
« We must end the Drug Enforcement Administration, a band of thieves and brigands dedicated to ruining lives, families, and communities in search of profit and power.
« We must end the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms, a meddlesome organization targeting the Second Amendment and those who seek to avail themselves of the rights guaranteed therein.
We are encouraging voters to make an informed decision in this contest, but our opposition refuses to debate, appear at forums or gatherings, as long as I am present, my opponent is unavailable. That’s why my campaign team put this ad together, which shows a clear contrast between me and my opponent.
Your vote for me this Tuesday, August 30th will send the Invictus campaign to the general ballot to face the Republican and Democrat nominees. With your vote, our grassroots campaign to spread liberty to all Floridians is guaranteed to work.
We recognize that you own your life and you should be free to pursue happiness, with very limited interference from your government. To learn more about my campaign for U.S. Senate, please visit www.InvictusForSenate.com.
What others are saying about Augustus Invictus. . .
“Augustus is fully informed, doesn’t yield to pressure and refuses to compromise his values. His command of language, both written and spoken, is extraordinary. Augustus Invictus is everything the Libertarian Party has always wanted.”
William Wohlsifer, Esq.
Former Libertarian Party of Florida Candidate for Attorney General
“Augustus Invictus has made his case to me that he will be the best candidate to take on Marco Rubio and any Democrat in the fall election. Augustus Invictus will not be cowardly or afraid to debate his opponent. When I got in trouble last week and posted about it, only Augustus Invictus called to help and I barely know him.”
Florida Libertarian Activist
“Like him or hate him, one cannot deny that Invictus will give them hell. He has my endorsement.”
C. Burt Linthicum, CPA
Campaign treasurer for 2014 Libertarian candidate for governor, Adrian Wyllie
“Entities and factions can disagree, but to cause uproar over personal instead of political differences is wrong. Augustus is well educated, well spoken, and polished. I endorse Invictus for Senate.”
Keon Antonio Grayson
Libertarian Miami-Dade Councilman-elect
ATPR Note: Invictus’ opponent in the Libertarian Party of Florida’s U.S. Senate primary is Paul Stanton.
