Bohemia, New York – The Reform Party of New York will field a slate of candidates for the 2016 elections. These candidates will include challengers for local, state and federal offices. Last year, in 2015 the Reform Party of New York fielded 2,000 candidates. Based on last year’s results in New York, the New York fusion line supplied the margin of victory for almost 240 fusion candidates, and doubled the number of Reform Party officeholders nationwide.
One of these candidates is Mary Beth Wash, a fusion candidate for the 112th District assembly seat. She has earned the endorsement of the Republican , Independence, Conservative and Reform Party lines. She is an attorney that specializes in both local, municipal and family law.
In a time when Albany is in need of more individuals who support a responsible government, the Reform Party believes Mary Beth Walsh is the right choice for State Assembly,” said Bill Merrell, State Reform Party Chairman. “Mary Beth has the background and experience to make responsible choices, and the will to stand up for practical interests and against the special interests.”
Angelo Morinello is also a candidate for New York Assembly. He is running in the 145th District, and has been endorsed by the Conservative, Independence and Reform Parties. Currently Mr. Morinello is a retired city court judge.
“Angelo Morinello is the only candidate for State Assembly who knows what it’s like to stand up and be a leader for our community, not cave to the special interests in Albany,” said Bill Merrell. “Angelo Morinello has spent his career setting reasonable and common-sense objectives for those in his community”.
These two candidates are among a growing field of Reform Party candidates in New York.
As the leading moderate, centrist and populist party in the country, the Reform Party once had fifty state ballot access and held the Minnesota Governorship. The Reform Party membership is hoping that it can use electoral success in New York to pave the way for a national resurgence.
