From Jill2016.com, July 15th, 2016:
On Friday, July 8, the Board of Elections verified the Green Party of Washington‘s petition to secure ballot lines for its candidates for the November general election. The party filed 1385 signatures to cover the 1000-signature threshold necessary for the party to be placed on the ballot.
Jill Stein, presumptive Presidential nominee of the Green Party, said: “I am so grateful to the volunteer petitioners and to everyone who took the time to sign our petition. This is what democracy looks like.”

Jody Grage, chair of the Green Party of Washington and petition drive organizer, adds: “People were very eager to sign. Everyone is so fed up with the vitriol and fear offered by the so-called major party candidates. They want an opportunity to vote for someone who offers a positive solution to our most pressing problems. The Green Party stands ready to address the issues of income inequality, rigged elections, environmental degradation, and more. Everyday people in Washington are ready to rise up in support of our candidates and our policies”.
Voters in Washington State have a history of reflecting progressive causes that the Green Party champions in its current platform. Seattle was the first city in the country to approve a $15 minimum wage; it was the second state to legalize marijuana; and the historic “Battle of Seattle” protest in 1999 against the World Trade Organization demonstrated widespread popular opposition to devastating free trade agreements.
Gloria Mattera, Jill Stein for President campaign chair, noted, “The Green Party and Jill Stein are now on or have filed to be on 24 state ballots, and are on track to be on the ballot in 47 states. The American people will have a clear choice in November to vote for revolutionary change.”
