The following statement was written by Chris Keniston, the Veterans Party of America presidential candidate, and published on ChrisKeniston2016.com on July 9th, 2016:

If it wasn’t clear before that I’m not a politician, it will certainly be clear today.

Dallas authorities have officially concluded that Thursday night’s heinous attack was carried out by a lone gunman. In a press conference yesterday, Mayor Mike Rawlings stated:

“This was a mobile shooter who had written manifestos on how to shoot and move, and that’s what he did…”

The shooter was not part of any greater movement. He was not a martyr to any cause. He wasn’t especially unique, except in his violent actions. He was simply a man consumed by rage and hatred, fueled by militant influences that ultimately compelled him to take innocent lives…based on the color of their skin and the police uniforms they wore.

I wish that I could be surprised. The sad truth is, I am only surprised this didn’t happen sooner. I am surprised it isn’t happening more often. I am surprised it wasn’t much worse. Because this incident is just the latest outbreak of an underlying disease that is killing our society.
