Georgia Green Party hosts Jill Stein for events in Athens and Atlanta
Presumptive Presidential Nominee stumps for ballot line in Georgia
Polling at 7% support nationwide, Dr. Jill Stein of Lexington Massachusettes is bringing her Presidential campaign to Georgia. “Last week the campaign announced it had secured the delegates necessary to win the nomination of the Green Party of the United States on the first ballot,” said Bruce Dixon, father, grandfather, editor ofBlackAgendaReport.com and CoChair of the Georgia Green Party. “With that resolved, our focus switches fully to ensuring that Georgians will be able to mark their ballots for Stein in November.”
Dr Stein will appear Wednesday night, 7-9pm in Athens at the Zell B. Miller Learning Center; 48 Baxter St, Athens, Georgia 30602. Thursday night from 7pm till 9pm, she will join supporters at Murrell’s Cafe, at the Interdenominational Theological Center; 700 Martin Luther King Jr Dr SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30314.
Each event is open to the public. The focus will be on raising funds and mobilizing petition circulators to put the presumptive Green Party nominee on the Georgia ballot. “You can’t vote for a peace candidate if there are no peace candidates on the ballot,” said Dixon. “On July 12th, it will be too late for folks to decide they need a Plan B.”
