Throwback Thursday: Today, news spread across the Internet that Dr. Marc Allan Feldman, a candidate for the Libertarian Party’s 2016 presidential nomination, passed away yesterday. From Chanda Neely at Cleveland.com, June 23rd, 2016:

BROOK PARK, Ohio — A Cleveland Clinic doctor who recently lost a bid for the Libertarian Party’s nomination for president was found dead Wednesday in a Brook Park motel, the party confirmed.

Marc A. Feldman, 56, of Beachwood was found at the America’s Best Value Inn in the 14000 block of Brookpark Road. The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner’s Office has not released an official cause of death.

The Cleveland Clinic issued a statement saying: “We are saddened by the sudden loss of Dr. Feldman. He was a talented physician and will be missed.”

For today’s Throwback Thursday segment, we are briefly highlighting Dr. Feldman’s presidential campaign. Dr. Feldman was one of five candidates to participate in the final, nationally televised C-SPAN presidential debate at the 2016 Libertarian Party National Convention on May 28th, 2016. The following day, he came in fifth place on the first ballot of voting, receiving 58 delegate votes, or 6.27%. He likewise came in fifth place on the second (and final) ballot, receiving 18 votes, or 1.94%.

Dr. Feldman had some notable moments on the campaign trail, including a “libertarian rap” he composed. His closing statement at the C-SPAN debate was widely hailed as one one of the highlights of the night.

Dr. Feldman’s Libertarian rap, delivered at several Libertarian state conventions (this one in particular was given at the Libertarian Party of Texas state convention presidential debate on April 8th, 2016), with a beat added:
